2 Chainz is an American rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur, and television personality from College Park, Georgia. He first gained recognition as one half of the Southern hip-hop duo Playaz Circle, whose breakout single "Duffle Bag Boy" helped bring the group national attention in the mid-2000s.

After adopting the stage name 2 Chainz, he launched a highly successful solo career that established him as one of the most recognizable figures in modern hip-hop. His debut solo album, Based on a T.R.U. Story, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and featured hits such as "No Lie" and "Birthday Song." He continued that momentum with albums including B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time, Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, and Rap or Go to the League.
