About This Performance

Liz Mitchell is joining Boney M. in concert to delight audiences with its classic hits and holiday favourites. The group made a name for itself during the 70s and 80s disco era with its unique sound – a mix of reggae, disco, funk, gospel, soul and rock. Boney M. went on to release over forty hit singles, thirty albums with up to 250 million units sold and numerous live tours and tv appearances. The group is best known for its hit songs “Daddy Cool”, “Ma Baker”, “Rasputin”, “Mary’s Boy Child/Oh My Lord” and “Rivers of Babylon”. Its sixth studio album ‘Christmas With Boney M.’ remains a holiday classic for audiences around the globe.

Michell is one of the four original group members whose vocals are widely regarded as the most distinctive part of the Boney M. sound. After the band split in 1986, Liz went on to release many great solo albums and start her own studio. The lead singer returned in 2004 touring as ‘Liz Mitchell Sings the Hits of Boney M’. This holiday season, Boney M. featuring Liz Mitchell will be together once more with its ‘Holiday Favourites and Classic Hits’ tour December 2, 2022 at the Grey Eagle Event Centre in Calgary.
