About The YYC Music Awards

The 8th annual YYC Music Awards shines a spotlight on artists from one of Canada’s most vibrant and eclectic music scenes, with a focus on celebrating new and established artists that embrace Calgary as home; entertaining and supporting its arts and culture. From classical, to hip hop and rap, pop, metal, jazz, folk and more – the Calgary music scene is rich, diverse, and essential to the cultural fabric that makes up our city.

On September 24th, join Calgary and area musicians, and industry professionals from all diverse parts of the music community for an evening to gather to network, celebrate and elevate the gifted and talented musicians, performers, educators, venues, and industry leaders that are essential to the arts and culture of our city. The evening includes a networking reception, new and fresh live performances, celebration of 27 unique awards, broadcast of nominated music videos, and a keynote speech from a cultural leader to inspire the community. The public, friends, family and fans, get up close and personal access to their favourite local musicians – to cheer each other on and make new connections in celebrating their accomplishments!
